As AAIM moves into 2026, we are on a mission to grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of our membership and the industry as a whole.

No other group is better positioned to prepare us for and direct the future of Insurance Medicine. Know that the organization will always be grounded in its objective to Advance the Science and Practice of Insurance Medicine. It comes down to the how.

Prior AAIM presidents have focused on the VALUE of AAIM during 2022-2023 and inspired us to VOLUNTEER with AAIM in 2023-2024. The next step in 2024-2025 included raising the VISIBILITY of AAIM (and our members). Here are a few examples of how VISIBILITY was encouraged in 2024-2025:

Membership – One purpose of AAIM is to promote networking between members, since no one person can do and know everything. Therefore, AAIM is a professional and social hub for exchanging ideas and pushing medical risk selection to the next level. The updated website will improve access and visibility to each other, so please contribute to its success by making sure your profile is updated and complete.

Company – The Professional and Public Relations Committee promotes the educational offerings of our members at conferences and webinars. Please make sure they know about these presentations throughout the year for inclusion on social media. It is a convenient way to raise corporate awareness of the organization, and our member expertise and their contributions by reposting them to leadership and underwriters. The goal is to reinforce corporate recognition by expanding your social media profile.

Industry & Beyond – The Journal of Insurance Medicine (JIM) demonstrates the purpose of Insurance Medicine and its intellectual and professional rigor. Expanding its access beyond AAIM members has increased the sources for submissions and expanded scientific recognition. As the industry seeks to protect the ability to appropriately stratify risk, being able to reference articles in JIM validates the work we do. Therefore, leverage it fully as a reference, and forward to company leaders, underwriters, and regulators when relevant.
